Speaking

Renovate,
Don't Demolish

A twenty-five minute talk on why the instinct to tear everything down and start again is the wrong instinct, and what to do instead.

The talk

What the room gets

It is built for rooms of ordinary people rather than for conferences. It works in a bookshop, a business group, a community hall or a lecture theatre.

It gets laughs, which matters more than most speakers admit. Nobody takes an idea home from a talk they endured.

  • Why a fresh start is usually the most expensive option on the table
  • How to tell what is genuinely rotten from what just looks bad
  • The survey before the plan, and why that order never changes
  • Building a bridge instead of jumping, when other people depend on you
Length25 minutes, or 45 with questions
FormatIn person or remote
Based inAlmería, Spain. Will travel.
PHOTOGRAPH
Speaker shot. Leon mid-talk in front of a real room. Until the first tour date exists, use the coastal portrait, which is the only one of the three that reads as a speaker headshot. Portrait.

Enquiries

Ask about a date

Tell me who the room is, roughly how many, and when. I will tell you honestly whether the talk fits, and if it does not I will say so rather than sell you it anyway.

Goes straight to me. I answer everything, usually within a couple of days.

Got it. I will come back to you within a couple of days.

Not booking a talk?

The talk is the short version. The survey is the version you can actually do something with tonight.
